I started the day by driving to the edge of town to watch the sunrise. I think I’m ready for a nap now. Someone, a few years ago, said that watching the sunrise was an Easter tradition they had. I liked it. I would rather have that tradition than egg hunts. At least the sunrise has some semblance of relationship to the holiday. I wrote out my notes for my Relief Society lesson while I sat there. And then I read the four chapters in the Gospels about the morning of the resurrection while the sun came up over the mountains and shined light on everything. It was a beautiful morning.
There was a group of people gathered there at the trail head where I was parked. It seemed they had a sunrise service for some religion. They sang some hymns and the man in charge said some words. Looking at them, I couldn’t help but think that the man there had no real authority to lead a church. He could gather friends together to talk about Christ and His gospel, but he had no authority to really help those people spiritually. I am grateful that I know where to find that authority.
This evening I’m going to cook the lamb chops I found at the store yesterday for dinner. I’ve never understood why ham is the traditional food for a holiday that originated with Jewish tradition. If someone can tell me why that is, that would be nice.42D
I opened my yo-yo maker yesterday and quickly made up some spring flowers with my scraps. These went together so fast. I used ribbon to attach the button centers. Four of them have a felt leaf, the other has a fabric leaf that has two pieces of fabric held together with fusible webbing. I glued the pink ones to tiny clothes pins. The blue on with a yellow center is sewn to a pin and I haven’t decided what I’m going to do with the other two yet.

The report is in. The lamb chops were real good. The potato salad was good, but still got mixed reviews. I owe a great deal to my fine chopper, without whom none of it would have turned out as well. 🙂
I think the next time I make potato salad, I will not be putting celery in it. I finished it off today, and I liked everything about it, but the celery. I think I like celery when it is cooked better than raw.
