Learn something new – Moons

I have known for longer than I know (life long fascination with the heavens can be blamed for that), that the same side of the moon always faces Earth. The moon rotates at the same speed that it orbits.

I did not know until recently though, that the same is true of just about every moon in our Solar System, and probably anywhere in the Universe.

That’s just amazing!

That moons do that around their planets but planets do not do that around their suns, must mean something. I shall have to figure out what. My guess would be something to do with how they were formed.
