Oranges, Waiting, & Snow

I’ve decided oranges are possibly my favorite fruit. They come with their own wrapper. Bananas do too, but bananas bruise and get squishy if I throw them in my backpack on my way out the door in the morning. Oranges don’t do that. Orange peels also smell better in the trash than banana peels do.

For more than a year now I’ve had a crack in my windshield that has also appeared in my blog before (first time, second time, third time). Since I need to register my car in Arizona, and they’ll be doing an inspection of it for that, I figured I should replace my windshield before then. I called around and got some quotes. Tuesday I set up an appointment for them to come do it. Glass guys make house calls. Who knew. They told me they’d be here Thursday (today) between 10 and 12. At 1:30 I called to see where they were. Waiting for them made me feel like an adult, the way adults wait for the cable guy, or the air conditioner guy, or whoever. But I kind of need it taken care of soon too. It seems they told me Thursday, and wrote down Friday. At 3:00, the guy showed up to fix it. Part of me wants to sit out there and watch him do it. I won’t though. But luckily I can clearly see my car in the parking lot from my apartment.

I hear it is snowing in Utah right now. I miss Utah Springs. It is going to be upper 80s today and lower 90s all weekend. I’m not going to have Spring for a long time. And Winter is completely out of the question. Fall probably won’t be much either. So for the next many years I’m going to have to settle for early Summer, Summer, and late Summer.
