Influencing my choices

You didn’t have a choice about the parents you inherited, but you do have a choice about the kind of parent you will be.
– Marian Wright Edelman

I didn’t choose my parents, but they are awesome. They visited us for Thanksgiving and it was great.

Because of the parents I have I was able to make a lot of other good choices. Choosing education was easy because it was encouraged in our home. Choosing faith was easy because it was part of our home. Choosing family was easy because of how important our family was. Choosing my husband was influenced by the choices of spouse my parents made and how they treated each other.

As far as this life is concerned, I did not choose my parents. But I’d like to think it was one of the best decisions I made before this life.

Amazing (and a little frightening, when you think about the alternatives) how it all worked out, isn’t it? :brett:

I believe that you had a hand in choosing your parents.
