I gave the final exam on Wednesday and finished submitting the grades this morning. And I have to say, I really enjoyed teaching the class. I think I got into teaching because I absolutely love learning, but I really love teaching too. I just needed to change the situation I had before. Right now I get the best of everything. I get to study and learn and write papers (yes, I love writing papers). And, I get to teach. But the teaching is mostly in short bursts so it remains novel.
It’s interesting to look at how everything keeps building on everything else. My teacher prep. program at BYU prepared me to teach. My teaching prepared me to pursue graduate degrees, and now both my teaching and my graduate studies have prepared me to teach again.

I picked up my course evaluations this morning. And they all said very nice things about me. It was great! I want to frame them. But I won’t. I’ll just add them to my box of things to look at when I wonder why I’m in this field and teaching.
