Time to clean out my news feeds again.

Today we’ll go through drawing, space photos, magazines, sprained ankles, math, math, communicating, and writing letters.

» Mo Willems: Getting Adults to Draw – I loved this NPR story on drawing. I’ve been thinking of getting a sketch book and finding my sketching pencils and starting to sketch some more. I love drawing. I like the idea of a dinner party being centered around drawing on the dining room wall.

» Astronomy Pictures of the Day – There have been several lately that I’ve just found particularly amazing. I think part of the appeal of them is that I could probably take pictures like these with only a slight change in my photo taking equipment.

» Liahona: Same Magazine, 51 Languages – I get the Liahona every month in Portuguese, but I’d never thought much about it. I appreciated this article about the history of the magazine and all the work that goes into it. I do remember the big deal a few years ago when the General Conference talks were going to start coming out in the Liahona the same month they do in the Ensign.

» Sprained ankle rehab complicated by delayed muscle response – Considering my history with sprained ankles, I thought this was interesting. After my last few, I take them much more seriously and think people who plan to just walk them off are crazy.

» Top recruit powers Cougar ‘mathletes’ to top-25 finish – LOVE this story about cool geeks! Is it strange that I’d like to go see one of their competitions? And I love the photos associated with the press release. Just so cool!

» Math: The Eyes Have It – I thought this was an interesting concept about the connection between math and movement. I’d love to see this worked into math teaching practices.

» The evolution of communication – I loved this political cartoon. I printed it and put it on my office door. I love words I can feel, like books and letters. They are a lot more real to me.

» The Art of Letter Writing – That love of physical words is probably why this post about letters attracted me. There really is something about getting a letter in an envelope in the mail.
