Cccccoold!

The high today in Pleasant Grove, Utah, was 23. That’s 8 degrees below freezing. That’s cold. Tomorrow morning when I wake up the temperature is supposed to be 5! 5! It’s tempting to call in cold at work tomorrow and stay inside with my down comforter and my hot chocolate all day.

First graders

Yesterday I looked up from my desk and was amazed at how many first graders were all cleaning their noses at the same time. It made me wonder what the largest percentage of first graders that would be doing that at the same time would be.
Today’s first grade class was a bit different. This class [...]

Music Box decisions

I’ve narrowed it down to two music boxes I would like to buy this year. I need to make the final decision soon so I can have it here in time for my Christmas party.

Good News

This is a case where I am saying it is good news to trick myself into believing it.
Yesterday the physical therapist asked how I was doing. I told him that honestly, the progress there is, is so slow I often wonder if I’ll die before it gets better. He said there was some [...]

Great performance – dumb audience

I have had some interesting theatrical experiences this week. The other day a director asked me if I sang and then proceeded to tell me all about a part and even sing me part of the song. I knew they were going to ask me to take the part, but they never did. Instead they [...]

A problem of a book addiction -or- Too many books, Too little time

I got on Amazon today to look for some possible gift ideas. I’ve spent the last half hour adding books to my wish list, about math.
A week or two ago I read a chapter from a book for homework in one of my classes. The chapter was great and I decided the rest of the [...]
