Happy Solstice

In case you missed the news, there was a lunar eclipse this morning. The last total lunar eclipse was on February 20, 2008 and Brett and I watched it with the top down on the convertible on the mountain where Brett later proposed. This one we watched from our backyard. Well, I watched it from the backyard. Brett stumbled out of bed about 12:30 and looked out our bedroom window, agreed with me that it was amazing, and then stumbled back into bed. This was quite the full lunar eclipse because it was the full moon and the solstice as well. That’s quite the combo and hasn’t happened in several hundred years.

I got a few pictures of the moon last night. This one was my attempt to be artsy with the tree in our backyard.

And here’s some that show the sequence of the eclipse. This universe is amazing.

So cool!

It was snowy and cloudy here in Utah, plus I was exhausted, so these pictures are a great substitute! Gorgeous!
