The barter system is great. I do something for you – you do something for me.
For the last year and a half I’ve worked a few days a month at the fabric store near my house. And it has definitely been a barter system there. I help them out a few days a month in exchange for fabric and other sewing supplies. It really made me laugh this weekend when I figured out how much I’ve made the last two days based on how much fabric I came home with. I get do to a lot of vicarious sewing as well – helping people pick out fabric for various projects that I can then think about while they have to actually make them.
The details of how the bartering worked this weekend are on the other part of my website.
