I wore my yellow peasant shirt today and several people said I looked happy. (Photo of me in the shirt from my birthday in 2008.) So here’s some happy things from today.
- New belly dancing scarves! I ordered four more a week and a half ago (because yes I need that many), and they arrived today. So I had to try them on and shimmy a little. More about why I need that many soon.
- Teaching. I love my college class. It was great to interact with my elementary kids today. Those moments really just flow for me. It’s a high. And today they were the high points of my day.
- We were watching “The Sing Off” tonight and one of the judges made a comment about everyone at home dancing along in their Hello Kitty pajamas. Brett commented that maybe he should go get his Purple Kitty pajama pants. I love that he called them that.
- Cooler weather. Oh it’s nice to need a jacket now for our Monday night walks.
- I’m at the point in the semester where I’m teaching motivation. And I try to show a video with each chapter. So there’s this kid, who is also very happy:
Sometimes you just need to list the happy things. What’s happy in your life right now?

I am an educator and PhD. I quilt, belly dance, run, read, and try to grow things. I am a Mormon. I am infertile. I am a daughter, sister, aunt, grand-daughter, friend, wife, and mom.

My midterm will be over tonight.
My class presentation went really well last night.
I’m wearing Chucks.
I can get back to my regularly scheduled super busy but not overwhelmed life tomorrow. Yes, this is directly correlated with the midterm. 🙂
Ahhh… eight full hours of sleep. :brett:
Consecutively? I’m pretty sure that’s a myth.
Ahhhh, chocolate oatmeal with almonds for breakfast.:)
My family makes me happy. I loved the video. That kid had a lot of wisdom.
