House of Prayer

And he taught, saying unto them, Is it not written, My house shall be called of all nations the house of prayer? but ye have made it a den of thieves.
Mark 11:17

I stress and worry. It’s what I do. And I know it isn’t the best for me. So I’m always looking for ways to calm down. I figure the “fight or flight” syndrome is a good reason why I run, I opt for flight. And doing yoga helps calm my breathing and helps me be aware of all the places I’m holding tension.

Organize yourselves; prepare every needful thing, and establish a house, even a house of prayer, a house of fasting, a house of faith, a house of learning, a house of glory, a house of order, a house of God;
Doctrine & Covenants 88:119; 109:8

I also pray for peace in my life, pray that I can find the calm in the world. One place I prayer for, and find, that peace is in the temple (that’s the Bountiful temple, where we got married). It’s a quiet, peaceful place, beautiful.

But lately, I’ve realized that while I do have stress and such, there is a lot of peace in my world as well. And I need to remember to be grateful for the peace I do have. Recognizing the peace I have been blessed with has helped me to find even more peace.
