Reading the Gospel of Matthew and the account of Christ visiting the Americas after His resurrection in the Book of Mormon, it is not hard to notice the similarity between chapters 5-7 of Matthew and chapters 12-15 of 3 Nephi. This book examines the similarities and the significance of the difference between the two sermons. Welch brings up the idea that the sermon is quite possibly part of a ritual ceremony. I found this idea extremely interesting and while reading the book had several moments where what he was saying just really clicked. Reading this book will definitely give you a lot to think about.
