Devil's Garden - Friday, 9 April 2004

Devil's Garden trail was the other strenuous trail we did. We headed for this one after leaving Delicate. It is 7.2 miles round trip according to the park, but it felt much longer. There are 8 listed arches (there are always arches along the trails that aren't named, so we named a few along the way) and one tall pillar along the trail, plus a great view of what are called Devil's fins. We took the primitive trail back, completeing the loop. That was probably my favorite part of the trail because there were hardly any people on it and the views of the valley were incredible. When we finished the trail, we collapsed onto the mattress in the back of the pick-up truck and discovered that cheese-in-a-can has greatly improved in the years since we used to get it and that V8's Splash fruit juices are real good.

I fell off that fence poll four or five times before Brian could snap the picture fast enough.

I carried my tripod over most of the park.
Here Brian took a picture of me using it to take the two pictures that follow.
