It's chocolate day!
I need to get some chocolate.

Today is also 7/7/11 (no matter how you write the date - d/m/y or m/d/y). Which is real cool. And next week we get 11/7/11 or 7/11/11. And for some reason these dates are more exciting than next month when we'll get 8/8/11 and 11/8/11 or 8/11/11. Probably because we grew up getting slurpees at 7/11 and not 8/11.

Today is a rather odd day, if you write the month first. Because then it is 7/9/11. A series of three odd numbers. That's odd.

Speaking of odd. It just recently dawned on me how to explain the pattern that an odd plus an odd equals an even and an odd plus an even equals an odd. I was driving to school and the number line suddenly lit up inside me and it made sense. I've known that pattern for a long time. But now I could explain it.

Today is also National Sugar Cookie Day, so I will be making some as soon as it cools off. It's too hot to do any baking right now. Maybe I'll eat some with my teddy bear tomorrow for Teddy Bear Picnic Day.

Ah. Hammock day. And this year we have our hammock up. I spent a lovely hour in it this morning before it got too hot listening to the birds in the trees and feeling the vibrations of the air force planes flying overhead and reading Harry Potter. It was a lovely morning.

Good thing the pioneers weren't trying to arrive in Salt Lake today. They would've been resting, reading, and praying today instead of walking, walking, and walking.
