I knew it was already July, but for some reason I didn't realize it was already July until this afternoon. Does that make any sense?

I didn't do anything to celebrate Paul Bunyan Day.

I've been thinking about making some French toast, but it's been years since I had any waffles, probably because I don't own a waffle iron. Maybe next year I'll be able to take care of that one.

I have spent a lot of time looking up at the stars, and I did see a meteor ten days before Meteor Day.

I thought about wishing my Canadian friend a Happy Canada Day on Wednesday, but I forgot again before I actually did it.

Tomorrow though, tomorrow I will be wearing red, white, and blue and bbq-ing some ground cow. And I'm going to do my best to find some fireworks too. I love when they go "boom!"

And if we get rained out tomorrow, then I'll just watch the lightening, because that's more beautiful than fireworks sometimes. And it's one of my favorite parts of the summer storms to begin with. Fireworks go "boom!" but thunder goes "boom!" and then rolls across the heavens.

17 July 2009, Friday

I've been busy.

I did have chocolate on July 7th for Chocolate Day.

I can't say I really did much in the way of a picnic for Teddy Bear Picnic Day on July 10th.

I do know that I thought about my own geekness and how happy I am with it and how much I enjoy embracing the geekness of others on July 13th for "Embrace Your Geekness Day."

I thought about the French on July 14th for Bastille Day and would've probably said something here that day if I hadn't been so busy that it completely slipped my mind whenever I was at the computer to do something about it. I was also a bit preoccupied that night with going to see the 6th Harry Potter film.

But I have been eating some hamburger helper stuff I made this week, and I might have even originally cooked it on July 15th, which would be fitting for Cow Appreciation Day. It's been one of the few things I felt like eating this week.

In none "holiday" related news - I'm teaching college now. It's a little strange. I speak and people take notes. And then they study those notes for tests I give them. Weird.
