Christmas 2005

Dear Friends,

This year I was able to cross off one of the random goals I set for my life. One of my goals has been to learn to belly dance, and as it turns out, there are classes in Provo. I am still the Relief Society president in my ward, but everyone else in the presidency changed in July. We told our bishop our presidency needed to learn to belly dance to "build unity." And so we did. We learned to belly dance and had a lot of fun.

Because Relief Society still keeps me very busy, I only had time for one theatrical performance this year. It had to be the melodrama in Pleasant Grove, this year entitled "He Done Her Wrong." I didn't need my mustache this year though.

I took two road trips this year. The first was the beginning of August and I went to California. I had never been to Nevada before, so it was great to be able to cross that state off my list. I had also never eaten at an In-n-Out Burger. So coming back we stopped in Vegas and I had an In-n-Out Burger. Then I took my change from dinner, 35 cents, to the Excalibur casino and put it in a slot machine. I won 75 cents. So I've been to Vegas and came out a winner. That is enough for me.

My second trip was to drive out to Austin to spend Thanksgiving with my family at my sister's. The family part was great, the driving part not so great. But my car got back all in one piece and can still get me around, so I can't complain too much.

Starting in January, not only will I go to school as a teacher during the day, but I will also go to school as a graduate student at night. I am still teaching elementary computers and still think I have the best job in the world. But it is time for more, so I will be starting a Masters of Education program at the University of Utah. Never fear though, I will still always be a BYU Cougar.

I can't wait to see what adventures 2006 will bring.

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas
and a Happy New Year to come.
