7 February 2010, Sunday

The clouds on Groundhog Day didn't actually arrive till the evening, so the Tucson groundhog saw his shadow that morning. And that's great news! Because the weather right now is absolutely perfect. I love this time of year. I'm just sad that it only lasts for a few weeks.

Happy Birthday Grandpa Nelson! He'd be 97 today.

We're going to watch the commercials this afternoon. I'm going to write at least one card today for "send a card to a friend day" and get it in the mail tomorrow.

1 February 2010, Monday

Welcome to February. Today is 01/02/2010. And that's pretty darn spiffy. (Thanks Mr. Me for pointing that out to me.)

And that's about it for now.

Tomorrow is Ground Hog Day. I know we'll be celebrating here - watching the news for Phil's prediction, watching the movie with the same name (that's Brett's idea), and I've even thought of a special ground hog day inspired dinner. I'll let you know how that goes.

They're forecasting clouds for tomorrow, so that would mean an early summer. Except we live in Arizona, so I don't know if that's really something to be excited about. Have you seen the summers here?

27 January 2010, Wednesday

So January has been busy. Brett and I went on our big honeymoon trip to California the first of the month and had an amazing time. We missed earthquakes, bad weather, and large crowds. We took a lot of pictures and put them up on our family blog (Disneyland, SeaWorld, San Diego Zoo, San Diego).

Then we came back and school started back up for me. I'm taking two classes this term and teaching an undergraduate class. It means my day to day schedule is real weird, but at least it's normal from week to week.

We had our house decorated wonderfully for Christmas. Decorating it for normal is taking just a bit more time, but I'm having fun with it and Brett thinks it all looks good.

It's good to settle into our routine.

29 December 2009, Tuesday

There are still a few days left in the year, but I think it's safe to say that I have the pictures I want to make a year-in-review of me this year. Unfortunately the only picture taken of my face in February was taken by someone at a ward party who never got around to getting the photos out. And the only picture taken of me in May was so I could renew my passport. But you get the idea.

8 December 2009, Tuesday

I've attended my last class for the semester. So now it's just finishing up the last assignments and grading the last tests. It feels good to be finishing up. This semester has been an interesting one. Brett thinks there should be some kind of "you got married so you can turn things in late" thing. I told him there is, it's called "get married in the summer you crazy person." But I'm getting things done.

The house is decorated for Christmas. Now to get to unpacking my stuff. I'll have to get pictures of it up, especially for the people who saw it before. But it looked wonderful for our Christmas party/house warming/wedding open house last week.

Things are definitely settling down for a long winters nap. Or at least as long as it is between now and the start of the next semester.

The month of November is in the archives.
