3 July 2009, Friday

I knew it was already July, but for some reason I didn't realize it was already July until this afternoon. Does that make any sense?

I didn't do anything to celebrate Paul Bunyan Day.

I've been thinking about making some French toast, but it's been years since I had any waffles, probably because I don't own a waffle iron. Maybe next year I'll be able to take care of that one.

I have spent a lot of time looking up at the stars, and I did see a meteor ten days before Meteor Day.

I thought about wishing my Canadian friend a Happy Canada Day on Wednesday, but I forgot again before I actually did it.

Tomorrow though, tomorrow I will be wearing red, white, and blue and bbq-ing some ground cow. And I'm going to do my best to find some fireworks too. I love when they go "boom!"

And if we get rained out tomorrow, then I'll just watch the lightening, because that's more beautiful than fireworks sometimes. And it's one of my favorite parts of the summer storms to begin with. Fireworks go "boom!" but thunder goes "boom!" and then rolls across the heavens.

And a great day to remember great dad's too.

14 June 2009, Sunday

Happy Flag Day!

13 June 2009, Saturday

Oddly, I did my sewing by hand today for National Sewing Machine Day.

11 June 2009, Thursday

Good luck Mom!

6 June 2009, Saturday

Sixty-five years ago today history changed.

2 June 2009, Tuesday

Happy National Bubba Day!

And if you can figure out the proper way to celebrate that, let me know.

I think I've figured out how to celebrate National Running Day tomorrow though. The only question is just how far I'll be running for it.

20 May 2009, Wednesday

The semester is officially over. It ended real well, no scary statistics dreams this time. I'm on a three week break until the Summer terms start. I'll be grading for the first Summer term and teaching the second one. It'll keep me busy, but not too busy.

I'm also keeping busy finishing up a bunch of sewing projects I have laying around. It's nice to see them finish up and get where they belong.

Also, it's hot. Today we are only going to be in the upper 80s and it's such a relief from the last week it's almost sad. But I made full use of the cool breezy morning this morning and sat on my patio for a very long time just reading and enjoying.

Happy Mother's Day

9 May, 2009, Saturday

I feel it is fitting that on this day, Lost Sock Memorial Day, that I got the last of my laundry put away for this week, my pile of socks. And they are all there too. No lost socks this time.

1 May 2009, Friday

What a wonderful day to dance the May Pole! That is one tradition I miss. I'll just have to enjoy the flowers on my own.

I hope your May Day is full of flowers.

The month of April is in the archives.
